- Fish....hybernate? Seriously? I live in Minnesota, where the cold water runs for over half the year. We catch fish by drilling holes in the ice. The ones WE pull out are NOT hybernating!

- My first name has an apostrophe in it: D'se (pronounced disay) My biggest pet peeve isn't having to spell it to everyone; it's the natural nickname that arrived when, to my parents' shock and surprise, I was born a natural blond. Yep. You got it. My nickname is "dizzy".

- When I married, my maid of honor was my only attendant. I told her to pick out a tea-length dress in any shade she wanted that would complement white flowers. She was over a thousand miles away, and her dress was supposed to be a surprise to me.

- I had to stand up for a bride who insisted the dress had to be a "bluey lavendar" shade "not too expensive". She ordered a dress from JC Penney in my size and wanted me to pay for it. The cost was almost $400 for a cheaply made hunk of polyester.

- I didn't breastfeed my first child out of choice. I always felt I was missing something. I breastfed every one after the fact, and I learned I WAS missing something. It is a very unique, rewarding experience, offering a kind of private bonding with your child.

- mchll: In my very early days of breastfeeding my children, my milk came in as soon as the baby started fussing. Towards the end, though, the only thing that would prime the pump was the child's mouth work. Breast pumping did nothing.
